As revealed in the Vivid BAD SQUAD unit story, the two have known each other since middle school since Akito would frequently drop by WEEKEND GARAGE after his experience with RAD WEEKEND. As of recent event stories, Akito has extended his older brotherly role to his interactions with Kohane. He occasionally bullies Kohane to get a humorous reaction out of her, much to the disapproval of An and Toya. In many area conversations, Akito tells Kohane to keep her head up and gives her advice about music. In the main story, Akito saw her as a newbie who had no idea what she was getting into and was critical toward her, but he changed his mind after seeing her and An's performance later on. Even after joining Vivid BAD SQUAD, he still operates under the BAD DOGS unit with Toya.

He sang together with Toya under the name BAD DOGS before joining the Vivids, An and Kohane's duo, to form Vivid BAD SQUAD. He now looks up to Shiraishi Ken, An's father who performed in RAD WEEKEND, and practices hard to achieve his dream. This kickstarted his interest in street music, which eventually grew into the dream of surpassing the legendary music event RAD WEEKEND. After viewing a concert at the festival, Ena suggested that he should try out singing, and gave him a small speech, saying that he shouldn't give up on things without even bothering to try them. Some time after he quit playing soccer, he was dragged by his older sister, Ena (who was in middle school at the time), to a summer festival. He was notably very good at soccer but he decided to quit after he and his team lost an important tournament. When Akito was in elementary school, he played for an unnamed soccer team.
